About the Teacher

My name is Amanda Duffy. This is my first year teaching at Richland Elementary, but I have five years teaching experience. I taught 8th grade English at Briarcrest Christian School before making my move to elementary. I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in Communications and worked as a journalist for a local magazine before going back to graduate school. I graduated from the University of Memphis with two Masters degrees, one in Education and the other in English Literature. I REALLY love books and talking about them!

My husband Brad and I have been married for almost 6 years, and we just welcomed our daughter Eloise (aka Weezie) into the world this past December! We have two Bernese Mountain dogs named Bear and Moose that give us all the attention and dog hair we could ever hope for!

This is not my first time at Richland. I actually graduated from Richland back in the day! I am thrilled to be back at my old school and getting to be a part of something that truly shaped me in elementary school.

If teaching at your old elementary school isn't cool enough, I am actually teaching with my old teachers! Mrs. Robinson was my 3rd grade teacher, and Mrs. Reed was my 4th grade teachers! We are all so thrilled to be back together!
